Ah I have fond memories of Golden Axe in particular too, and Cave Story, such an awesome game.
Facebook hopefully wasn't a great loss anyway, not a big fan of the ownership or nature of that site personally, though it does have its uses...
I think the 2012 redesign was around until 2016 at least, or 2018, at which point it gradually started to change to this, to be easier to maintain mainly. It's definitely not as 'cool' I agree, but I don't mind the change personally. On the bright side the new version does load much faster, and works on all devices, I think it was a good call for NG to adapt and stay relevant, even if I loved the old design too. Even more so the one that came before it, from 2007. ;)
Agree with the PM limit, and user deletions. Some users gets deleted by staff but unfortunately a lot of them just seem to delete their accounts voluntarily, and go elsewhere. I've never understood why you can't just leave your account if you do leave, but alas, it seems we feel differently about the value of preservation, or legacy; just not unnecessarily wiping away your footsteps as you go. Others may appreciate to see where you've been, or where you're going... most recently Seth just disappeared, over a small kerfuffle with mods. He didn't have games specifically but a loooot of other content. And some people who delete old contributions just because they don't like what they made back in the day... wish they'd stop that.
It's never too late to start making content if you want to though. ;)
